Powermac G5 noise? Get real.

I can not stand the constant whining of people about computer noise. Yes noise is generally bad. But having have multiple computers of different brands over the last 15 years the G5 is the most quite of all since the Commodore C64. First people complained about to loud G4s then Apple fixed that with controlled fans - 9 of them - then people complain about chirping noise. Grml yes I have the chirping noise as well. Its especially "loud" when doing network transfer. You know what: Its is so quite that even with some very quite ambience music on you can not hear it. The fan in my powerbook is MUCH louder then the noise. When people are around and talk you can not hear it. If you are so inclined to have a quite computing environment then I guess you better by an Alienware PC (/sarcasm) or put the computer in a closet. The most funny part is something that I noticed a couple of days ago by someone claiming "going insane" because of the chirping noise. He has put the huge G5 tower ON his table right next to his ears. Sorry if you think a G5 is a status symbol you deserve to go insane. Tell me out of the box PC hardware that is more quite then a G5 and as powerful.

Ok. First. I have to think to myself when I read your comment, that maybe you work as a designer for apple. We apple users who have been onboard as users, endorsers & supporters and have dealt with many issues over the years. Some were bad, some were not so bad, but APPLE's current G5 Noise problems and power supply issues are as bad as your use of the english language my friend. (with all due respect)

Secondly, I might also add, that you sound like you have low expectations when it comes quality. I, and Im confident that I am not alone on this, am not the only Audio Recording Engineer who feels the G5 is an inferior product due to the fact that it exhibits audible chirps, beebs, squeaks and other aquarium fish tank sounds into our Audio signal paths and video productions.

Third, Apple is marketing this G5 as a serious workstation tool for audio and video professionals. In your comment you state that the "Guy has the computer on a table next to his ears"
I submit, thats because apple supplies a very short cable between the cpu and keyboard. They do supply another cable, but its very short as well.
Is apple to tight to make a longer cable. Or do they want their customers to have the same low expecatations like yourself? I have high expectations, I paid 3k for a computer that is terrible. Im not satisfied with it.

Forth, and I will make this my last point, because this is getting to be too long, is that apple has not owned up to this in my opinion. they have removed the forum page from their site, and this was because of their slow quarters G5 sales, I bet. If apple addresses these shortcomings of their so called flagship G5, and makes them right with all of their disappointed owners, they would sell more comps. Otherwise, audio pros like myself and others will have no other options but to move to the otherside of the fence. Shame on You apple.. And shame on you for having low expectations. It makes us all look bad. By the way.. Tell Steve Jobs I said hello.

Hmm... lets see I bite to trolls but its ok :)
first of all english is not my native language my friend. I am german born here and all english I write is learned by myself, lets see if you can speak better german then I speak english.
I am also not an apple employee. I am just a user. I like what Apple does, but not all and with all due respect I hate some things apple does outright. But the G5 is just a marvel of computer design. Its fast its reliable and its quite. That it does make sound is normal EVERY DESKTOP OUT THERE MAKES SOUND. If you really would be a PROFESSIONAL then you have a quite closet for the computer anyway AS ALL PROFESSIONAL STUDIOS I HAVE BEEN AT HAVE. Those cost $500 and host a raid as well, because if you are a professional user of audio or video application then you would need a raid (redundancy, speed?). And trust me every good raid I have seen is MUCH louder then anything the G5 produces on sound. And yes my cable that apple supplied is going down behind a 1 meter deep table onto the floor and I still have enough cable to pull the keyboard onto my lap. Maybe you got supplied a different cable. As said before I want Apple to be good as possible, seeing all the other pc manufacturer out there, better seems impossible. I am not stitch to the platform its just as best for my need as there is. And price is no problem for me. I rather spend some more and get a better computing experience. Go get an Alienware PC which is comparable in speed and robustness as the G5. Then tell me again that the G5 is loud!
You prolly have an iPod. You much sound like one of those AppleZealots who make this brand suck more and more, if they just wouldn´t be making so nice computer with the best Operating System out there (for me) I would abandon just because of people like you (and no I do not have an iPod). I am not part of you "It makes us all look bad" I am not part of you sect.
